Vision
To see confident, culturally grounded rangatahi who know their worth, believe in their potential, and lead creative,
sustainable futures for themselves and their communities.
Mission
We empower rangatahi through creativity, sustainable fashion, and kaupapa Māori, helping them build confidence,
skills, and a strong sense of identity.
Our Purpose
We exist to provide safe, inclusive spaces where tamariki and rangatahi build confidence, practical skills, and a strong sense
of identity through creativity and sustainable fashion grounded in kaupapa Māori.
We deliver free, values-led workshops in sewing, design, modelling, and creative expression. Our work is guided by manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga, while teaching sustainability through reuse, repurposing, and ethical creation that honours Papatūānuku.
Workshops run weekly throughout the school year and lead to an annual Creative Showcase largely planned and delivered by rangatahi. Participants can stay with us through to Year 10, allowing real leadership development and skill mastery. Alongside workshops, we provide mentoring and pathways into further education, creative industries, and positive community engagement.
Our programmes strengthen rangatahi, whānau, and community by building confidence, cultural grounding, resilience, and real-world capability.
We believe every young person deserves to feel valued and capable. Mistakes do not define them, growth does. Our role is to walk alongside rangatahi as they discover their strengths, take responsibility for their future, and build belief in themselves, creating lasting impact for people, community, and environment.
Rerehua Rehua Meaning
Rerehua and Rehua are kupu Māori that together speak to beauty, creativity, brilliance, and light, all central to our kaupapa.
Rerehua refers to beauty, elegance, grace, and aesthetic expression. It also speaks to movement and flow with purpose, much like creativity and fashion expressed with aroha, confidence, and intention.
Rehua is the name of a whetū (star), the brightest in the constellation Scorpius. In te ao Māori, Rehua is associated with wellbeing, knowledge, abundance, and healing. It is connected to warmth, vitality, creativity, and mauri, the life force that sustains all things.
Together, Rerehua Rehua reflects:
“Beauty with purpose, guided by light and wellbeing.”
This name reminds us that creativity is not just about how things look, but about how they are made,
why they are made, and who they uplift along the way.
