Kiddiewinks - Rerehua Rehua is committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in both our governance and
our day-to-day practice. We recognise Te Tiriti as the foundation of relationships in Aotearoa and are guided by its
principles of partnership, participation, and protection.
We actively work in partnership with Māori by respecting mātauranga Māori, tikanga Māori, and Māori leadership within our kaupapa. .
We aim to create spaces where Māori identity, language, and cultural expression are valued, visible, and protected,
while ensuring rangatahi feel safe to bring their whole selves into our programmes.
Tikanga Māori is not treated as an add-on. It is something we live, breathe, and practise to the best of our ability, through
how we welcome people, how we work together, how we care for one another, and how we make decisions.
We acknowledge that tikanga is living and contextual, and we approach it with humility, respect, and a willingness to learn and improve.
We also recognise that our community is made up of many cultures. Kiddiewinks - Rerehua Rehua is committed to learning
not only about Māori culture, but about all cultures that come through our doors. We welcome cultural knowledge
shared with us and honour the lived experiences of our rangatahi and their whānau.
We believe in equity, respect, and mana for all. Cultural expression at Kiddiewinks is encouraged, protected,
and celebrated, with everyone acknowledged as equals. Our aim is to foster a creative environment grounded in care,
understanding, and shared responsibility, where diversity strengthens our kaupapa and connection
grows through learning together.
